ASU News interviewed me this month on Jane Austen, the 20th anniversary of Clueless, and feminism. You should totally pause to read it!
I was delighted to receive my author's copy of "Pride and Prostitutes." (No, it's not autobiographical.) Check it out in the July/August issue of Jane Austen's Regency World Magazine. It's an article co-written with Ruth Knezevich, in which we follow-up to our Modern Philology essay, the one that attracted the notice of the New York Times. In this new magazine essay, we talk about our research adventures and how we drew our conclusions about Charles Austen, two Barbardos madams, and a pickle purchase. The essay is not available online, but here are the publication details: "Pride and Prostitutes" Jane Austen's Regency World Magazine (July/Aug 2015): 23-30. Print.
